Moon Jellyfish
9-26-2026
We’re excited to welcome our newest arrivals — Moon Jellyfish (Aurelia aurita)! Known for their graceful, mesmerizing movement and translucent bells, Moon Jellyfish are a beautiful addition to a well-maintained marine aquarium.
About the Moon Jellyfish
Moon Jellyfish are delicate marine invertebrates found throughout temperate and tropical oceans around the world. Their translucent bodies can give them an almost glowing appearance under aquarium lighting, while the four distinctive horseshoe-shaped structures visible through their bells make them easy to recognize.
Despite their delicate appearance, Moon Jellyfish are fascinating predators. They use specialized stinging cells called nematocysts to capture tiny prey, including zooplankton and other small marine organisms.
Care & Habitat
Moon Jellyfish require a specialized jellyfish aquarium, such as a Kreisel-style system, that provides gentle, continuous circular water movement. This helps keep them suspended in the water column and prevents their delicate bells from becoming trapped against equipment or aquarium surfaces.
Key care requirements include:
-
Stable saltwater: Consistent salinity, temperature, pH, and excellent water quality are essential.
-
Gentle water flow: Flow should keep the jellyfish comfortably suspended without creating excessive turbulence.
-
Specialized filtration: Filtration should be designed specifically for jellyfish to prevent them from being pulled into an intake.
-
Appropriate nutrition: Moon Jellyfish feed on small planktonic foods and are commonly offered suitable brine shrimp or other appropriately sized marine foods.
-
Regular maintenance: Uneaten food and waste should be removed promptly, and water parameters should be monitored regularly.
-
Careful handling: Moon Jellyfish are extremely delicate and should remain supported by water whenever they need to be moved.
Because Moon Jellyfish are sensitive to changes in their environment, stability is one of the most important aspects of successful care.

Freshwater Live Plants Have Arrived
9-19-2026
NEW FRESHWATER PLANTS HAVE ARRIVED AT WET WORLD!
Bring your aquarium to life with our newest selection of beautiful freshwater plants! Freshwater plants are an incredible addition to any aquarium, adding vibrant natural color, texture, and depth while creating a more comfortable, natural environment where your fish can feel right at home. Beyond their beauty, live plants play an important role in helping create a natural ecosystem inside your aquarium. As part of the aquarium's natural biological cycle, plants can take up nutrients such as nitrates and other nitrogen compounds produced as fish waste breaks down, using them as fertilizer to support healthy plant growth. In return, healthy plants produce oxygen through photosynthesis, helping create a thriving environment for your fish. Whether you're looking to add a few colorful accents or transform your aquarium into a lush underwater world, Wet World has the plants to help you make your tank come alive!
